Skotterudtoppen

This residential development consists of 3 apartment blocks with senior homes. It is located on a privileged site on the outskirts of Skotterud in Eidskog municipality, with views to the surrounding forests. Important aspects for the project were rational prefabrication construction in a local facility to keep construction costs down, in order to make the homes affordable for the rural community. Each apartment boasts a very large terrace with excellent sun exposure, which the residents could choose if they wanted it open, or enclosed to protect from the climate. The variation of open and closed terraces give the facades a playful design, while the lightness of the terraces contrasts with the insulated and closed wooden volumes of the apartment buildings.
