Farmhouse
This new home on the shore of lake Lyseren was thoughtfully designed and constructed as part of the farmyard’s revitalization. The goal was to establish a dynamic and modern farm operation, leveraging the farm’s own resources. The replacement of the old, dilapidated farmhouse was long overdue due to its poor condition. The new building intentionally occupies a slightly more northern position than the original farmhouse. This strategic placement accounts for future barn expansion to the north while maintaining the farmyard’s symmetry. Additionally, it creates a delightful South-facing patio accessible from the kitchen. The distance to lake Lyseren remains unchanged.
The farmhouse is designed in a traditional Norwegian style that echoes historic designs commonly found on Norwegian farms. The facades, windows, floor heights, roof angles, and decorative elements all draw from historical examples, with many CNC carved details being exact copies of historical designs. Meanwhile, modern construction techniques and materials ensure that the building meets all contemporary standards.
The farmhouse is supplemented with a new stables and a new barn, both in a similar but simpler traditional design.
